St-Martin-in-the-Fields Charity’s 7th Annual Frontline Worker Survey Findings Published
Listening to lived and frontline experience is crucial to addressing homelessness.
St-Martin-in-the-Fields Charity, who fund LSA’s Disrupting Cycles of Disadvantage: Early Intervention in Homeless Project, have collected feedback from over one thousand frontline workers across the UK who are supporting people experiencing homelessness.
Their survey found that the demand for homelessness services is increasing, which mirrors our experience. Their survey also reported additional strain on staff – and that at times frontline workers themselves are struggling to make ends meet.
As one frontline worker in Manchester put it, “We need big structural changes, including increased availability of social housing, funding of public services, and a transformation of attitudes towards homeless and multiple marginalised people. This is more than individual organisations can achieve alone and requires coordinated collective demands from the sector.”
Findings are now available, sharing frontline workers’ insights into key issues and good practice when addressing homelessness, the impact of the rising cost of living, staff wellbeing, and access to training.
