LSA’s Housing and General Court Team Honoured at National Conference on Homelessness
Last Tuesday, Legal Services Agency’s Housing and General Court team were honoured at Scotland’s National Conference on Homelessness, organised by Homeless Network Scotland.
The team were recognised at the ‘Inspirations from the Frontline’ session which closed Day 1 of the conference. As our Housing and General court team were very busy representing our clients in court, LSA’s Communications Officer, Amy McGilp, spoke on their behalf at the event.
Amy spoke about what inspires the team to do the work that they do. Amy highlighted successful cases in which lasting positive impacts were made for vulnerable clients, as well as the team’s work in influencing legislation with the expertise they have gained through their frontline work.
As put by Amy: “The Housing and General Court team undertake prevention of homelessness work every day. Without them, many would end up homeless. During Scotland’s recognised housing emergency, this work has never been more important.”
Legal Services Agency would like to thank Homeless Network Scotland for organising this vital event, and for choosing to recognise the hard work of LSA’s Housing and General Court team.
It is our hope that the conference will set in motion a path to a better future in what is a challenging time for the sector, as the Everyone Home collective warns that lives are at risk this winter due to rough sleeping.
