LSA Celebrates Human Rights Day 2024

Legal Services Agency celebrates Human Rights Day 2024.

Human Rights Day is celebrated around the world on the 10th of December every year.  The date was chosen to honour the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption and proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This was the first recognition of human rights on a global scale and one of the United Nations first major achievements.

This year’s theme, “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now”, focuses on how human rights can empower individuals and communities to create a better tomorrow. The theme highlights the critical role of human rights as a preventative, protective, and transformative force for good.

At the heart of Legal Service Agency’s work is a commitment to defending and enhancing the rights of people experiencing disadvantage, inequality, and discrimination. This is achieved through our frontline work, as well as our forward-looking work in strategic litigation and contributions to policy issues.

We are proud in our achievements made in the past year in promoting human rights and equalities, and look forward to continuing this work in 2025.
