Launch of LSA’s Disability and Social Justice Project

Legal Services Agency is pleased to invite you to join us for the virtual launch of our new Disability and Social Justice Project. The project has been designed to support and empower people living anywhere in Scotland to enforce their rights, challenge injustice and reduce discrimination.

The project will involve the provision of specialist legal advice, assistance and representation to disabled people throughout Scotland. Our team includes those with lived experience of disability, providing them with a unique understanding of the issues that disabled people face in enforcing their rights.

The project will seek to address systemic policy and practice issues through identifying cases suitable for strategic litigation and pursuing these in the courts. We will also be collaborating with Disabled Persons Organisations and disabled communities to improve knowledge of the legal issues faced by disabled people in Scotland. The project will also include research into hidden disabilities.

The launch event will include a presentation delivered by our Disability and Social Justice team providing an overview of disability discrimination law in order to help attendees to identify discrimination in practice. There will be time for questions and answers.
