What to bring to your appointment
Depending on what sort of case you have there are often documents that will help our solicitors give you advice on your case. Please try and bring any documents you have. Don't worry if you don't have the documents, or don't have exactly what we've noted below, we can still assist you. We look forward to seeing you soon!

When you come to speak with us about obtaining a Guardianship Order we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID and Proof of your address
- Documents showing the current capital held by the person over whom you are seeking Guardianship.
- Documents showing the current income of the person over whom you are seeking Guardianship.
When you come to speak with us about a Power of Attorney we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID and Proof of your address
- Bank Statements showing how much capital you currently have
- Documents showing your current income. These could be a wage slip, DWP letter or bank statement.
When you come to speak with us about a Mental Health Tribunal we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID and Proof of your address
- Any Tribunal papers you have received
When you come to speak to us about Mental Health Detentions we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID and Proof of your address
When you come to speak with us about an Eviction (Social Tenancy) we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID and Proof of your address
- Documents showing your current income and your partner’s income (if applicable). These could be a wage slip, DWP letter or bank statement.
- Proof of any savings, investments etc that you have. A recent bank statement for all accounts for you and your partner will usually be enough unless you have any other sources of capital
- Any papers regarding eviction you have received from your landlord or their solicitor or from the court (these will likely be called notice of proceedings, summons or incidental application)
When you come to speak with us about an Eviction (Private Tenancy) we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID and Proof of your address
- Documents showing your current income and your partner’s income (if applicable). These could be a wage slip, DWP letter or bank statement.
- Proof of any savings, investments etc that you have. A recent bank statement for all accounts for you and your partner will usually be enough unless you have any other sources of capital
- Any notice you have received from your landlord (likely to be a notice to quit, section 33 notice, notice to leave, AT6)
- Your tenancy agreement
- Any papers you have received from the First Tier Tribunal
When you come to speak with us about a Landlord Dispute (Dampness and Disrepair) we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID and Proof of your address
- Documents showing your current income and your partner’s income (if applicable). These could be a wage slip, DWP letter or bank statement.
- Proof of any savings, investments etc that you have. A recent bank statement for all accounts for you and your partner will usually be enough unless you have any other sources of capital
- Any correspondence you have had with your landlord about the dampness/disrepair
- Photos of the dampness/disrepair if appropriate
When you come to speak with us about a Homeless matter we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID
- Documents showing your current income and your partner’s income (if applicable). These could be a wage slip, DWP letter or bank statement.
- Proof of any savings, investments etc that you have. A recent bank statement for all accounts for you and your partner will usually be enough unless you have any other sources of capital
- Any decision letter you have had from the local authority regarding your homeless application
When you come to speak with us about Mortgage Repossession we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID and Proof of your address
- Documents showing your current income and your partner’s income (if applicable). These could be a wage slip, DWP letter or bank statement.
- Proof of any savings, investments etc that you have. A recent bank statement for all accounts for you and your partner will usually be enough unless you have any other sources of capital
- Any letters you have received from the lender, the calling up notice and the Court papers
When you come to speak with us about Criminal Injuries Compensation we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID
- Documents showing your current income and your partner’s income (if applicable). These could be a wage slip, DWP letter or bank statement.
- Proof of any savings, investments etc that you have. A recent bank statement for all accounts for you and your partner will usually be enough unless you have any other sources of capital
- If you have already made an application to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority please bring a copy of your application and any letters which you have received from them.
- The crime reference number for the crime of violence you are seeking compensation for and any police records that you have
- Details for your GP and any specialist medical practitioner you are seeing with respect to the criminal injury
- If you have any criminal convictions yourself please bring details of these
When you come to speak with us about an Employment case we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Proof of ID and proof of address
- A document showing your current income. This could be a recent wage slip, DWP letter, or bank statement.
- Recent bank statements from all accounts to show how much capital you currently have
- Any letters received from your employer
- Any Tribunal papers that you have lodged or received
When you come to speak with us about a Benefit Medical Evidence matter we will need you to have the following information with you:
- Photo ID and Proof of your address
- Documents showing your current income and your partner’s income (if applicable). These could be a wage slip, DWP letter or bank statement.
- Proof of any savings, investments etc that you have. A recent bank statement for all accounts for you and your partner will usually be enough unless you have any other sources of capital
- The decision letter for the benefit decision you are appealing
- Details for your GP and any specialist medical practitioner you are seeing
- Details for the welfare rights adviser who is assisting you with the appeal (if you have one)
