Congratulations to LSA’s Newly-Qualified Solicitors
Legal Services Agency is delighted to announce that two of our now-former trainees – Fiona Anderson and Rebecca Stafford – have successfully completed their traineeships and qualified as solicitors.
Traineeships at Legal Services Agency are designed to develop the next generation of social justice solicitors. We pride ourselves on nurturing future leaders in the sector who are competent and driven to address future legal challenges.
Rebecca began her legal training at a large commercial firm before assigning to Legal Services Agency in the second year of her traineeship. Rebecca said:
Completing my traineeship at the Legal Services Agency (LSA) has been a very rewarding experience. I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, facing a variety of challenging legal issues. Working in such a client focused role has increased my understanding of social justice and the impact legal advice and support can make to the lives of individuals.
The working environment at LSA is incredibly supportive and collaborative, it’s hugely satisfying being part of a team dedicated to improving access to justice for those who need it most, and I am delighted to be continuing my legal career with LSA.
Fiona has undertaken her whole traineeship at Legal Services Agency, working primarily from our Greenock office delivering the Inverclyde Housing Rights Project. Fiona said:
I have thoroughly enjoyed completing my traineeship at Legal Services Agency.
I particularly enjoyed the high level of client contact from near-enough day one of my traineeship. I quickly gained confidence in the work I was doing thanks to the support and encouragement from colleagues at all levels – from fellow trainees to legal staff to the admin team.
A highlight of my traineeship was conducting my first full-day evidential hearing shortly before qualification.
The work carried out at LSA might not ordinarily be viewed as particularly high value or glamorous however it adds value back into society and can be genuinely life-changing for people who would otherwise not be able to access the justice to which they are entitled. I was delighted to be offered the role of solicitor with LSA and look forward to the next stage of my legal career.
We extend our sincere congratulations to Fiona and Rebecca and are delighted that they are remaining with Legal Services Agency as qualified solicitors.
