Volunteers’ Week 2023: Celebrate and Inspire

Legal Services Agency marks Volunteers’ Week 2023.

2023 marks the 39th year of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), when LSA will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK. With this year’s theme of ‘Celebrate and Inspire’ we hope to encourage people to be the change that we want to see and get involved in volunteering in whatever way works for them.

The contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering, so taking the time during Volunteers’ Week to celebrate their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society as a whole has never been more important.

This Volunteers’ Week LSA will be celebrating our volunteers by sharing their stories. Our CEO, Aaliya Seyal has said, “Volunteering for me was and is a hugely rewarding experience and has played a large part in shaping my career. I cannot recommend it highly enough and always seek where possible to create volunteering opportunities”

At LSA, our volunteers are involved in a wide range of tasks, such as working on Legal Aid applications, preparing court documents, attending tribunals, assisting with administrative tasks and research and helping in the seminar department.

We are extremely grateful for all of the help and support that our volunteers provide us with. Their commitment to our organisation allows us to improve our vital services. We are also proud to offer the opportunity for aspiring solicitors to gain experience which will benefit their future careers.
