Jean McFadden, CBE, DL, M.A, LL.B
Convenor of the Board of Directors. Jean McFadden served at a high level for many years as an elected member of Glasgow City Council with experience as Leader of the Council, City Treasurer and Convener of its Education Committee. She is the first woman to be President of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities. She has extensive involvement in community issues. She has variously been a teacher of Classics and a legal academic at the University of Strathclyde with interests in public law. She has policy involvement having been the Convener of the McFadden Committee on Scottish charity law reform
Willie Croft Company Secretary. Willie has worked at a senior level in both Local Authorities and Housing Associations for a number of years. He has interests in all areas of policy but has a particular interest in energy efficiency in houses, eliminating fuel poverty and dampness, as well as the sustainable use of energy. Willie was also one of the first specialist Money Advisors in Scotland.
Paul D. Brown
Director. Paul Brown has been CEO and a member of the Board of LSA since 1989. His interests include housing law, criminal injuries compensation and legal policy issues.
Thomas Adams Director. Thomas Adams has extensive background in the voluntary sector in Glasgow as well as having served as Local Authority Officer. He has expertise in money and benefits advice and has served as a member of the Board, among others, of Glasgow Central CAB.
Vice Convenor. Gwynneth James is a senior member of staff at Glasgow Central CAB. She has responsibility for their work at North Glasgow Advice Centre. She is Convenor of the citywide area developed group (GCC) and has extensive interests in benefit, money advice and housing issues.
Director. Barry Levine is an academic in the Social Work field. His background includes family social work, addiction services, HIV and AIDs, supported accommodation, homelessness and young peoples’ rights in the care sector.
Director. Carol is a Welfare Rights Officer with a particular interest in those suffering from a cancer diagnosis. She works at Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre in Glasgow.

Director. Philip Braat is a Councillor at Glasgow City Council. He is Convenor of the Strathclyde Police Authority. He has strong community development experience and is a qualified solicitor.
