Preventing homelessness project

LSA aims to help anyone in Glasgow who is at risk of losing their home and/or becoming homeless. We can advise and represent tenants, homeowners and other family members. We provide help from various places, with and without appointments, including at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Advice and information on homelessness from Legal Services Agency

LSA is very pleased to announce that we have a new surgery every weekday from 10.00am to 12 noon aimed specifically at people who are threatened with homelessness or actually homeless, anyone who needs help with their homelessness application.

This every weekday homeless drop-in surgery takes place in our offices at Fleming House, 134 Renfrew Street, Glasgow, G3 6ST from 10.00am to 12 noon.

There is no need for an appointment.

This drop-in, fast track surgery is in addition to our usual services.

Our usual services include appointments arranged by phone (0141 353 3354 or Freephone 0800 316 8450) or call in at one of our free regular drop-ins.   The regular drop-ins cover defended eviction, mortgage arrears, private rented sector, disrepair, aspects of landlord and tenant law, criminal injuries compensation.   Other matters are best dealt with by appointment.

In addition, we have a number of outreaches.   For instance, we can see clients by pre-booked appointment (phone 0141 353 3354) at Molendinar Community Centre, 1210 Royston Road, Glasgow, G33 1HE.

  • We run helpdesks and provide initial free advice and representation* at Glasgow Sheriff Court: Eviction and Mortgage Repossession Courts:
For tenants involved in eviction cases: LSA staff are available every Wednesday before the eviction court starts at 9.30am and 1.30pm.  Please arrive early. The helpdesk is outside the courtroom inside the building.

For homeowners facing eviction/repossession: LSA staff are available every Friday before the mortgage `repossessions` ordinary court starts at 9.30am.  Please arrive early.   The helpdesk is outside the courtroom inside the building.

* This project is funded by Glasgow Advice Service (GAS) and the Scottish Government to help people threatened with homelessness. LSA will refer people with money advice or benefit problems to the appropriate advice agency. All initial advice and representation is free. LSA will take on cases through its employed solicitors, Brown and Co., subject to funding, including Legal Aid.
